Media in Mauritania is generally in Arab or French. State-owned and independent publications are found everywhere. International newspapers are sold in the large towns and grand hotels.

Mauritanie Television is national and mainly diffuses soap operas, films and programmes in Arabic, and news bulletins. The news is also presented in French. You can capture RFI and TV5 without an antenna or disk
