Be sure your passport is up to date with a visa viable for one month delivered by the Republic of Mauritania. To obtain a visa you must fill in a form obtained from the Embassy or Consulate in your country or the country you are presently visiting (see Addresses), together with two identity photos and the address where you will be staying in Mauritania. Don’t forget your Vaccination Certificate against yellow fever.
If you are coming by car from Morocco, you must apply for a visa at the Mauritania in Casablanca. Price is 100 dirhams (approx. 10 euros) The visa will be issued in approximately 1 day. If your car is older than 5 years, you must obtain a Certificate de Passage.
On entering Mauritania you will be asked to declare all your money. |
